Great question, the quote is an estimation so the quote price isn’t fixed each month for the length of the tenancy.
Certain costs are fixed, i.e if you signed up for Virgin 350 and your price is £38 then you wont see any price hikes in your tenancy.
The way the price changes throughout the tenancy is due to a few factors.
Your energy tariff selection. If you selected Fixed Unit then your unit price wont change, but your overall monthly DD cost may due to usage. You need to provide monthly meter readings to ensure you’re being billed the correct amount per month, and to keep away estimation bills which are marginally higher. If you select SVT or Standard Variable Tariff, you’re open to having your unit price changed throughout the year as OFGEM controls this cost and it fluctuates with the state of the market.
Water costs may change depending on your package and tariff. If your on a metered tariff your cost will change as you use water in showers, flushing the toilet etc. If you’re on a unmetered tariff your price stays the same throughout your tenancy but you are liable initial changes as the quote flow is simply an estimation. Your water provider will reach out in around 8 weeks of moving in to inform you of your monthly price. This is the final price that wont change if you’re on an unmetered tariff.
Your price will gradually drop if you select our TV Licence. Resooma pays for TV Licence in quarterly instalments meaning your first bill will be a 3 monthly one. For the following 2nd and 3rd month you will be billed half of of the quarterly cost. Then in your 4th month onwards we will reduce your cost to a singular month cost and gradually decrease it so you dont overpay for your TV Licence. The TV Licence naturally costs £2 per month more through Resooma than it does direct due to processing fees.
We currently do not offer an unlimited package which means unlimited energy usage for one fixed monthly direct debit cost.
