A few tips to help you be more mindful of energy usage!

Thinking of trying to cut back on your energy usage but dont know where to start? Check out our simple list below and give them a try, some you may know of already but some may be news to you 😊





1) Turn down the heating: Lowering the thermostat by just a few degrees and using the heating less often has the biggest impact 🔥

2) Shorter, cooler showers: Reducing hot water use saves a lot on energy - quick, lukewarm showers beat long and steamy ones 💧

3) Only run full loads: Wait until the washing machine or dishwasher is full before starting it, and use eco-settings whenever possible 💚

4) Switch off lights: Turn off lights when you leave a room and replace old bulbs with LEDs - they last longer and use less power 💡

5) Unplug devices: Chargers, TVs, and consoles* still use power on standby. Unplug them or switch off at the socket 📺

6) Air-dry laundry: Hang clothes on racks or outside instead of using a tumble dryer 🍃

7) Cook smart: Batch-cook meals together, use the microwave over the oven for quick bites, and keep lids on pots to reduce cooking time 🕰️

8) Use natural light: Open curtains and blinds to make the most of daylight instead of flipping a switch 🔆

9) Block drafts: Close windows and doors properly, and use draft stoppers to keep the heat inside ❄️

10) Stick to a shared plan: Agree on simple house rules (like a post-it near the light switch) to remind each other and stay on track

Bonus tip - Reduce data usage: Running high-performance games or streaming HD content can have a meaningful impact on your usage. Offer to bring your console to your mate’s house and never let them play 🤪
